Solid-state devices, Interpol and SonicWall use a stateful inspection engine tosecure IP traffic, and includes a year subscription to the CyberPatrol content filtering list.  You get good browser-based management and three 10-MbpsEthernet ports.  Sonic Systems is a real player in the Internet filtering and firewall category.  Priced at only $1,995, Interpol is by far one of the most cost-effective and useful security devices you can add to your network.  Interpol uses a custom real-time operating system written specifically for the firewall. With no file system or operating system running underneath it, it does not have some of the same security issues found in  OS-based firewalls.You can add services to the firewall by simply providing a name, port number and protocol type (TCP, UDP, or ICMP). Although the firewall can handle all IP.

traffic and lets you allow/disallow ActiveX and Java applets and cookies from passing through the firewall. You also can block access to Web sites that contain certain keywords.  You can have the log E-mailed to you on a predefined schedule, and you can choose which events to include. You can easily manage remote Interpols from a single console as well.
